<VV> Freaking newbies...

Perry has asked for help over at corvaircenter.com about virtually every
part on a Corvair. When numerous knowledgeable people reply with solid help
he regularly argues with them, criticizes the shop manual, often ignores
their advice and presses on as before.

There is a classic example of this right now in a corvaircenter thread where
Perrya is asking about adjusting 140 secondary carbs. It has taken Matt
Nall and others more than a week to talk Perrya out of his fixation that 140
secondary carbs magically "come in" at 3500 RPM. After maybe a dozen
messages he seems to now understand that the 140 carb linkage is not magical
and if you put your foot all the way in it the secondary carbs will "come
in" even if the engine is not running. Phew!
BTW, what he's trying to adjust is a kludge mixture of 1965 and 1966 140
linkage that "just won't work right". DOH!

When it was announced that Perry had published a Corvair maintenance book
some of the older guys on corvaircenter had to be resuscitated.
