"Greg Riley's book clearly states that the 1966-67 Corvair A/C condensers 
should be avoided even if they look nice."

He may state that but he offers no logical or technical reasons for 
supporting it and there simply aren't any as I see it.  Believe it if you 
wish, along with the flatness of the earth and death committees in the 
health plan, but it would be wiser to look for some facts.  Since the 
quantity of heat transferred to the engine cooling air is the same with 
either setup, the effect on the engine should be the same.  If the '65 setup 
cools better, then the engine air is preheated more and should be more 
damaging.
