<VV> The future of publishing?

I like the printed copy of the Communiqué and other magazines and catalogs
but, an online version is fine too.
I recently received an email from the SCCA asking me to choose an online or
PDF version of the GCR. This was to save money and time over a printed hard
copy who's price was contained in your dues. The rules revisions go on
constantly and a printed book could not keep up. A print copy is still
available but probably not for long.
I chose the downloadable PDF copy. I print the pertenent pages to put in my
notebook. I can cary the whole book and a lot more with me on a thumb drive.
In my line of work we used to have a hugh catalog library of the products we
use. Now it is rare to find anyone offering a printed hard copy of any
catalog. Most manufactuers have it all on a site and in PDF form. Much
easier to find what I need and print the page.

Don't get me wrong, I still like taking my favorite reading material to the
Throne Room for some quality time! GG!

Again, in my line of engineering design a lot of old timers quit the
business rather than learn how to do it on a computer. I came up using a
drafting board and pencils but, I embraced the technology especially if I
wanted to keep getting a paycheck!
In an odd turn of events here, I am going to work for a firm that is doing
some work for a large well known chemical company and we are doing the
isometric piping drawings by hand! The client requested it! Most of the
young gun cad jammers we have do not know how to draw by hand! Sometimes,
it's good to be old or should I say Severly Experienced!
