The only items left in question (that I can think of) are:  - master cylinder problem of some sort (can't think what)

  MC!  your "Bore"  is too large for your leg!    Buy a smaller bore MC.. what GM  did for Semi-Metallic brakes that required more pressure to work..


Also, AFTER doing that....  GET  KELVAR  shoes....  modern  brake linings are  not as good as the original asbestos based ones..
