Someone (either today or yesterday) stated that it has been many years
since an American manufacturer produced both a coupe and a 2-door sedan. I beg
to differ; both the 1949 Ford and the 1951 Kaiser came both in 2-door sedan
and coupe models.

Also, as to the B-pillar or lack of same being the difference between a
sedan and a hardtop, consider the 1951 Frazer; it had a B-pillar which looked
like a piece of window glass with a chromed frame on all 4 sides; it also
folded down. This was used on both the 4-door "hardtop" and the 4-door
"convertible" models.
