Ken, get that main ground fixed, pronto. If you are seeing a spark jump
there, that means high Voltage/amperage it is going thru the case, thru the
bearings and into the crank!  Probably not enough volts to weld things
together, but It certainly can magnify the crank which will attract metal
particales to it or change its strenght properties. Don't drive it that way.
When we magnaflux a crank for cracks, we use electricity to do it, but then
we degauze it to remove the residual magnatism before installing it in a
engine. You cannot do this in the car.
