<VV> Corrections, confession and Canada

ALL: Oh boy! Oh brother! And oh Good Grief!

I guess I can now add to my resume creating a small tempest in a Canadian
teapot. My only point about having a CORSA International Convention in a
non-USA location, like Canada, was the increased cost to even get there
(Canada) today vs when I was young and living in 4 blocks north of Detroit
city limits.

I just called the USPS and got their recording about passport information.
Depending on how old you are - over or under 15 - and what kind of a
document you want - a card or the book - the cost today varies from US$35
to US$100, verses pocket change when I was still living at home. Your
application will typically take 4-6 weeks. They will expedite your request
for an additional fee naturally. Some place rattling around in the back of
my shul is the notion you may only need the documents if you want to come
back. Who knows?! But wait, I sure somebody in VV land knows and will most
assuredly tell us.

I was not making any comments about why the cost of going to and security
between our countries went up, and certainly nothing stating or implying
anything about how the 9-11 terrorist got into this country. Gee....how
anyone got that from my post is beyond me. Maybe it is a manifestation of
the quaint and unjustified inferiority complex some of our friends to the
north are plagued with. I don't know.

So having a true International Convention in our close neighbor Canada would
cost a family of 4 something in the neighbor of US$200. Any takers? Due to
the US$ vs Can$ exchange rate, which last I remember hearing was well in
their favor, would also increase the cost to a citizen of the USofA to go
there. Any takers? Didn't think so. Hench by conclusion was that a true
International Convention, held outside the USoA would have few attenders.
But then, what do I know. Maybe we all save so much money playing with
realitively cheap Corvairs we have so much money in our bank acounts so we
could all afford to go to Canada for a week or so.

But I don't think so.

Oh, and just FYI, Brent Fullard, the protagonist of "don't blame us (Canada)
for 9-11" is not listed in the 2009 CORSA Registry as a CORSA member. Hank,
your turn.

Also, I have since been informed off line about 2 other things I said
recently. First, EMPI continues as a viable business, and did not fad away
sometime in the 60's or 70's like I said. You would think with all the car
magazines I newsstand read, I'd notice an ad or something about them and
retain the information. Hasn't happened. Maybe it is me?! (Be nice!) Or
maybe EMPI's advertising manager should be concerned. Second, I said last
time I knew there had never been a insurance claim on CORSA's policy. This
is no longer true. Don't know where or when, or outcome, but a non-official
person whose knowledge base I trust told me at one of the conventions a
child pulled a coffee maker off on themselves in the hospitality room and
ended up in a hospital. Specific details is none of our business.

Somebody asked about distance between chapters. Qualified statement
follows: Last I know a new chapter had to be 50 miles away from an existing
one.

Historically Yours,
			James Rice
