Smitty Says;  Some of you may remember a few years ago, a GM engineer was a guest speaker at a convention.  He addressed the burning valve problem.  He mentioned the fact that a quarter of a cent was a big deal in auto production and they were up "against it" trying to find a way to improve the valves.  Falcon had superior valves but they couldn't match them on the money allowed.  He said finally one of their corporate spies came through with the information that Ford was using the "punch outs" from the full wheel hub caps in their valve mix.  He said, there we were filling dumpsters with punch outs and paying somebody to take them away.  End of problem.
