Hi Guy,

What a great note and opportunity for input from the group(s)!  What are yours and the groups recommendation(s) for retention of members?  As well as recruitment resources for new members/memberships.

We know membership numbers will dwindle with attrition - lack of interest - selling of vehicle(s) - dues increases - lack of benefits - federal/state laws - county/city ordinaces - economy shifts - unemployment - relocating residence - illnesses - partnerships - additions to the family - etc -

But keeping membership retention - especially if they are not the active core group of members is the difficult aspect of many societies/organizations

What does the group think?  How can we hold on to our members?

Late last year - a post was sent to the VV community requesting benefits from your other organizations and groups that you belong to and what you would like CORSA to solicit or attempt to retrieve as a benefit of belonging to CORSA.  Many great ideas were forthcoming and achievable.

These benefits that MAY be attainable were long term disability insurance, travel group programs, shipping discounts with domestic & Interantional shippers, flowers delivery etc to name a few.

Without going into a lot of detail and he said she said, all of the programs being optional for each member and only at the request of the member and not the companies chasing or soliciting the members.  Would the membership be interested in the BOARD and or membership soliciting benefits such as the above and more - regardless if these benefits are not related to autombiles - not to say that we couldn't acquire other benefits from car specific resources.  We would be interested in your comments concerning activities as described above.

Student Membership as with many other national clubs will receive membership priviledges -  if the program becomes fairly successful - We would imagine that  more and more student related items find themselves at conventions and local shows.  The current convention and local schedules are extremely tight for the individuals that try to compete in all events.

Enough ramblings and time to listen to you the membership.  thank you

Hi All,

With all this talking about getting new members, when you get them what are you doing with them?  Awhile back I sent a post to a member of CCE and by mistake it went to VV but it did get some responses.  We now hand new members or 1st time visitors a bright red folder with a copy of our news letter, a copy of CORSA, a list of vendors and local shops, also a statement about our chapter and some info on the CORVAIR.  Now we try harder once they come to try and keep them coming with different things to do at meetings.  Don't let these people slip thru the cracks because once you've blown them off the chances of getting them back are poor at best.  Don't waste time seeking new members unless you know how to retain them once you get them.

Regards,
