Alan,

I don't know what instruments you have available there in the
motherland, but here is some information and pictures (no humor, sorry).
The clock hole in the metal piece that holds the clock, speedometer,
etc. is approximately 3.54-inches, but there is a flat on top as you can
see in the picture. The hole in the plastic piece that the metal piece
attaches to is 3.25-inches and tapers to a slight larger size towards
the front. The plastic piece where the clock fits into is set forward
approximately 0.15-inch. You should be able to fit most 3-5/8-inch
tachs in the available space.

I think the attached pictures (5) should make the foregoing clear -- if
not, holler. I've also attached a mockup (using catalog pictures of the
Monza dash conversion I have in process. Cool, huh?

I have the article and have read it many times. It actually makes it
look
pretty difficult, it is clear that the PG shifter only fits with extreme

difficulty at the far edge, and in the pictures it doesn't look quite
right.
That's why I have not done it.

And that's why I am still looking for something to fill that cheap,
ugly,
blank space in the middle of my dash that forever reminds me that the
bean
counters were firmly in charge at GM in the 60s.

I don't really care if I get a tach or a clock, or if it works or not. I
am
just fed up with my u-u-u-u-ugly dash!

Cheers

Alan
