Dash light on just enough to see the important gauges.  50% or less.  Sure
helps see out the windshield.

Off of headlights for a moment.

Alan made reference to "ambient light" and I believe that was aimed (pun 
intended) at outside lighting.  For "cockpit" lighting at night, I prefer to

have the dash lights turned to a low level - especially on the road.  Around

town, I might turn them up to the 50% level.

I see SO MANY drivers with the dash on full bright (including my wife).  To 
me, I want to see (mainly) outside at night.  The bright dash lights become 
a distraction that I don't want.  I still can't convince her of that and 
always have to turn the dash lights down whenever I get into her car at 
night.

Do others feel like I do?  That bright dash lights actually interfere with 
the ability to see outside at night....
