Hi Mike,

I have the Crane XR700 ignition on our Greenbrier but not the Safeguard
unit. Never a problem with the tach up until about a month ago. It is a
Spyder tach and I suspect that it is just old components causing the
problem. We had an erratic Spyder tach in our Ultravan that drove me crazy
for months. In the Ultravan we run an Ignitor pickup and a Safeguard unit.
Finally narrowed it down to a bad, original transistor in the tach. I
replace the transistor, zener diode pair and several capacitors. All is
well now.
