I'm not so sure that you are describing vapor lock.  What do you mean by "a 
few minutes"?  If you are getting beyond about 2 blocks it is something 
else - but that something else (among other things) could very well be a 
tired fuel pump.  Swap it for a know good or a new and see if the problem is 
cured.
