<VV> Carburetor Heat System

It's a good time to think about the carburetor heat system as it's 101 outside right now.
I looked in vain in Corvair Basics and The Classic Corvair for a discussion on Summer/Winter plates and can only apologize to Bob Helt if I missed it, but it would be nice if some knowledgeable person would write an article on the various openings and what they were supposed to be closed with in the summer. Even the shop manuals seem to avoid the subject. I have a '62 wagon which looks as though there never was a factory provided closure method and there must be a big pile of these plates somewhere as at least half of them seem to be missing on other cars I've encountered. Has anyone ever seen a comprehensive article on them? How many different types of summer/winter plates did Corvairs have?
