I've nothing to add but this suggestion. I find Rain-X (and its  
silicone competitors) does a good job of repelling road grime and  
makes bugs easier to remove. My washers haven't worked for years and I  
haven't tried to fix them. I make the excuse that less scraping of  
rubber windshield wipers means less scratching of the glass. That's my  
excuse for not fixing the washers. -ron 65,66
