Nearly identical. The difference, is a critical one. The rear head is special to the Corvair compressor. It incorporates a reverse rotation oil pump. This is a must, otherwise, a standard GM A6 won't last on a Corvair. However, remove the standard rear head, replace it with the Corvair rear head, and you're in business!

Thanks – any chance that the Delco A-6 and the Frigidaire
A-6 are the same unit?

For factory
A/C, it was Frigidaire.
