Recently had my 66 Monza at the show in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and
outside of burned points when we were almost home, it ran well.(1200
mile round trip) Decided to install a Petronix ignition and
Flamethrower coil with re-timing set to 16 degrees. Starts well, idles
good while cold but after getting to operating temps, wants to stall at
stop signs, traffic lights, etc. Increased the idle setting at the
carbs, but still wants to quit. Also struggles on hills. Case in point:
on the way to a show yesterday, mile long grade, fairly steep, ...could
only manage 50 mph uphill. I thought it should do better. Am I missing
something with the Petronix? Just a tired engine/tranny? Need
readjusting on the carbs, timing,? Any suggestions appreciated.
