<VV> Fuel tank sender leaking?

Just finished this repair, in fact the JB Weld is still curing. I was in
the process of modifying a sender for an in-tank electric fuel pump. As I
was handling the unit, I noticed that the outlet had a bit of wiggle to it.
Not Good!! A PO had slipped a segment of rubber fuel line over the bend in
the outlet pipe. When I peeled the hose off, the fuel line became two
pieces. There was a stub about 3\4" long protruding from the body of the
sender. I took a piece of steel line, the next size up and bent a 90 degree
bend in it with my hand held tubing bender. I cut the flared outlet segment
off the rusted off piece. A quick trip to the sand blast cabinet cleaned
everything up. I used JB Weld to attach the new piece to the remaining stub
as well as the cut off end into the other end. Should be as good as new
once the goop cures.

Subject: <VV> Fuel tank sender leaking?

A friend's '63 is dripping some fuel. Looks like it's coming from around
the fuel line where it enters the tank - where the pipe goes into the
sending unit. The pipe is a little loose in the sender - is it supposed
to be tight? Any easy repair for this? I'm wondering if I can use some
fuel tank sealing epoxy (easiest), remove the sender and solder the pipe
(cheapest but some work), or replace the sender ($ and not necessarily
available...).

Thanks,
Les
