May I suggest...

Go out to the garage at night and park a trouble light (turned on) under the 
problem area.  With the seat out of the car - look at that floor.  If it 
looks like stars (the galaxy) on a clear night, you might want to think 
about a replacement panel from a Corvair vendor.
