Hi Nate,

Rather than converting it back to an external regulator, may I  
suggest you just swap the Corvair front housing and fan onto an  
internally regulated GM alternator (swap the front bearing too).  I  
seem to recall a '72 Nova is a good donor candidate, just go to your  
FLAPS and ask for one.  Do the swap, then take your old alternator,  
put  the new front housing on it, and take it back for the credit.
