Hi Everyone, Myself, Spence Shephard, Chuck Sadek
and Sarah Beltrami have been working on an idea
for several months and would like to spread the
word now as it looks like we can make it work
with support from fellow Corvair owners and CORSA
members. This 50th year of Corvairs is obviously
special and several events have been planned to honor the Anniversary.
The Road Atlanta racing course has a race
weekend every year called the Walter Mitty. It is
a three day event and is a Vintage racer event.
This year the Corvair racers want to put an
emphasis on Corvairs racing in this special
Vintage race event. We now have at least 7
Corvair racers who have committed to racing on this weekend.
Now here is where everyone else fits in. We
are having a Corvair corral within the American
Marques corral in the infield area of Road
Atlanta. Our goal is to have at least 20 Corvairs
in the corral. It will be great if we can have at
least one Corvair from each year 1960 thru 1969
and even better if we have at least one of each
model including of course FC's. The 20 Corvair
count would be easily achieved if we had one
model of each Corvair from each year.
We plan to have CORSA brochures and CORSA
membership applications as well as free
COMMUNIQUE issues available at the corral and
also at the Road course for the full three days.
The below information shows all the options
for attending the event. Our plan for maximum
corral attendance is for Saturday. You can park
your Corvair in the corral each day you attend if you pay for infield access.
One day, LIKE SATURDAY, will cost $25 plus
$10 to attend all day and be able to park in the
infield and IN THE CORVAIR CORRAL if you pay
AFTER 4-17.............................AS NOTED
BELOW if you purchase a 3 day SUPER TICKET BEFORE
4-17 it would only cost $45 total FOR ALL THREE
DAYS and of course you would have all the above privileges for all three days.
We are also working on reducing overall
expenses to Corvair corral participants by using
excess crew passes from the Corvair racers.
Hopefully some of the Corvair racers will donate
their extra crew passes so we can defray the cost
of Corvair corral attendance. WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CORRAL
You will be able to come and go as you wish
from the corral area. There are food concessions,
bathrooms, spectator stands and huge track
viewing areas available in the corral/infield
area. You are encouraged to also bring your own
chairs, drinks, food, umbrellas, cameras,
sunscreen etc. This is a spectator friendly event
and the more you stay the more you will enjoy it.
This is the weekend after Corvair Atlanta's
Annual Springfest so that allows you to attend
with no conflicts of interest or harming attendance at Springfest

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT YOU CAN DRIVE PARADE LAPS
ON EACH DAY AROUND NOON TIME DURING THE RACERS
"QUIET TIME" THERE IS AN EXTRA CHARGE TO DRIVE
THE COURSE IN THE PARADE LAPS. THE COURSE IS OVER 2.4 MILES.

If you have any questions, Please email me off list
Thanks, Chuck Armer
