I have owned this car since 1983 BUT the previous owner (or someone) had drilled a hole about the size of a dime right in the center of the vin plate. Even though this car is registered in my name (Calif.) when I took it to the Colorado vehicle registration dept. and they looked at the vin plate they told me since they could not read it completely they would issue me a new vin and then declare my car SALVAGED. At that point I said "No thanks" and left. So now I am looking for a 65/66 title to make my car into. Illegal- probably. Immoral-no way as I am not trying to defraud anyone. I just want to regis
