Matt's idea would work. You would have to, in essence, place a driveshaft  
solidly (no U-joints anywhere) bolted to the 4-holes (on each end) normally  
used to hold down the U-joint straps over the outer U-joints. It would 
solidly  connect the rear stub axle yokes, making both of the rear wheels into 
one  solid axle. I would not move it very fast that way, but for pushing 
around the  driveway or loading it onto a trailer, it should work. If nothing 
else, trying  to bolt the sucker into place should provide a ton of enjoyment 
for your friends  as they watch!
