called a "Lean roll". The leaner mixture speeds up the idle of most any carb.

Subject: <VV> Turbo Carb question

Hi,

The car is a 66 turbo, recently rebuilt and everything runs quite well.

Tonight I was trying to fine tune the idle and I noticed two odd things.

The engine sped up slightly as I turned the idle mixture screw in. I stopped
at about ¾ of a turn from fully seated.

Also, and I don’t know if this is related but as I turned the idle mixture
screw in the gas started to drip out of the carburetor and this is with the
pressure regulator cranked right down to 1 ½ pounds.

The engine sounds fine, is  smooth and idling at about 850 RPM at this
point. The carburetor  was rebuilt and hasn’t leaked like this since I put
the pressure regulator in the line.  The engine has about 2,000 miles on it
since the rebuild.

There are no kinks in the fuel return line and I checked for obvious air
leaks (it was getting dark by now) and all of the connections were tight.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

Bob
