Yep.  Like most simple carburetors set the idle mixture so that the engine 
slowly decreases in rpm over 20 seconds or so ... this will be slightly " 
too rich" but makes up for a weak accerator pump shot, slightly wrong 
needle/jet etc.

Of course, you might have to blip it at idle to keep it cleared out,  but 
this only impresses those who think you have a big cam etc.  and it will 
probably not be accepted by non-enthusiast drivers, such as your wife 
fetching a couple six packs when it dies from too rich at every stop light.

( another benefit of too rich at idle will be that if you are playing hard, 
running a bit hot ... the carb will deliver a little cooling  mixture shot 
each time you go to idle circuit , or the idle position on your  tapered 
needle.  )
