Should have included this in prior post --

Some rims are susceptible to tire "slippage" -- the tire turning on the 
rim after they are mounted -- and I'm not talking about drag racing 
here, where tires are commonly screwed to the rims.  Some rims, 
especially if they are powder coated, chromed, or "mags", are slick 
enough that the tire turns on the wheel, and if it does this, the 
fanciest balance job just got invalidated,  Some folks will make a chalk 
mark on the tire where the valve stem is, others just always mount the 
tire with something (say the date code -- generally tire pros will put 
this on the inside, but you could have it near the valve to help keep an 
eye on how old those tires are) that coincides with the rim, again, like 
the valve stem.

And collectable cars often have "nice" wheels ...
