Even GM found out that brass would freeze in the front of an FC on a 
very cold day, like you might have in a classic Michigan winter, so they 
started putting a lever operated flap in the front of these to close 
that grill opening -- sometime in very late 63, I think.

Seems we were just talking about the grill gasket that went along with 
this flap, but maybe that was on the Corvanatics list
