Jim, Make sure you check the timing with the distributer vacuum off and
plugged and at the right RPM.

If after you have checked out the ignition, head to the carbs. On the carbs,
pull off the tops and see if you have a good stream of fuel in each when you
add throttle, from the accelerator pumps. They may not be giving you enough
fuel which would cause the hesitation.
