Every state's regulations are different.
And you didn't mention where you were from.
Here in NY, no Corvair ever came with a title.
They came with transferrable registrations.
Currently, if I had a Corvair and no paperwork, I could get a
non-transferrable registration by handing in a pencil rubbing of the VIN
number, they would run it, and if it did not come up stolen I couild get
the non-transferrable registration. After a year I could get a
transferrable one.
