Ray, it sounds like your harmonic balancer is slipping.  Turn the engine
around until you can see the timing mark on the pulley and check to see
if the alignment mark is still there.  The rear face of the pulley has a
chisel (grinder?) mark thru the outer pulley, rubber damper and inner
hub.  If these marks are not inline it is time to get a rebuilt pulley
from any of our great suppliers.  If it slips too much the pulley comes
apart and saws your oil filter in half.  Oil under 40-50 pounds of
pressure will saturate every square inch of your engine compartment.
