I read in Friday's Wall Street Journal that Willow Run Powerplant,
Ypsilanti, MI and a closed engine plant in Massena, NY are being sold by "Old GM."
Is this Willow Run where Corvairs were built; and was this where the
aluminum plant was?
The Willow Run plant was where Corvairs were built, and before that--during
WWII, Henry Ford built B-24 Liberator bombers (that's why it was that
size) and after that Kaisers and Frazers, until GM bought it to build
Hydro-Matic transmissions.

BTW, the divided highway from Detroit to Willow Run (the Willow Run
Expressway) was the first freeway in that part of the country.
