<VV> elusive timing mark

"...With the timing mark "lost" over on the drivers side the car  still 
runs fine (the same), the actual timing seems to be unchanged despite  the 
timing mark moving.....  any help?..."
 
Outside of harmonic balancer likely moving... From end of  balancer, check 
the check alignment mark of center (crank-attached)  section relative to 
outer portion of balancer (the part with the timing  mark). The marks need to 
be in alignment. Otherwise, get a new  balancer.
