I've just found something I have never seen before.
In a pair of carbs the metal inside the fuel bowls has turned black after a year of daily use 15,000 miles ,only where it has been in contact with the fuel.
The new fuel mix is oxidizing the aluminum?
Any thoughts ??

I've been seeing the same thing. For years (decades?) plugged carbs were a rare event... for the past few years I've had issues with every single set I've owned.

I do have another theory... we simply aren't driving the cars as regularly as we did a decade ago...

Bill
