The first time this happened, I told the fellow it was a Corvair.

Side by side at the red light...  "What year is your Camaro?"

Since then (a couple more times) I've changed my tactic...

"What year is your Camaro?"

Head slowly turns while watching for the yellow light to come on in the
cross street.

As it is about to go green for us - "It's a '65.....   The rear engine 
version"

Drive on, letting him think it over.

Grinning to myself all the way to the next light.
