OK...  You made me look.....

There are 4 versions...

The RediRadT is available in four versions:

  a.. Negative-ground 12 volt (model RR100-N)
  b.. Positive-ground 12 volt (model RR100-P)
  c.. Positive-ground 6 volt (model RR106-P)
  d.. Negative-ground 6 volt (model RR106-N)
Maybe he got a 6 volt OR the wrongly grounded one?  I still would have put a 
fuse in the line - say 10 amp?  Seems like the instructions would have 
mentioned proper amperage.
