Hi Ron,
   If my memory serves well, I took off the pivot rivet and removed the glass. Best way is by removing the whole assembly. Good time to replace the straight rubber (riveted) and the channel window felt too. Window felt was replaced with 1" velcro (the soft side), it worked fine for me.
