I would suggest that, for context, items from history and popular 
culture between Oct 2 1959 and May 14 1969 be included, i.e., Beatles 
appear on the Ed Sullivan show, Neil Armstrong walks on the moon, JFK 
assassinated, and so on.

The time of the Corvair was anything but a quiet decade.  The car 
appeared at the end of the Eisenhower administration and was 
discontinued during the "hippie" phase.

Also:

-Introduction of the Mustang
-Publication date for the novel, Unsafe at any Speed
-Introduction of the Chevy II
etc etc etc
