I may be mistaken, but I believe one of John Fitch's improvements to the Corvair was to install radial tires. As we all know, radials go a long way to make Corvairs more pleasing to drive. For those that never drove a Corvair with bias ply tires on a uneven road, let me tell you it can be a handful to keep the car on a line. Wade
