Hello everyone!
Just wanted to weigh in on this subject first hand! I currently own a
1966 Corsa conv.,140hp,
Lemonwood yellow, black interior & top with a factory 3 speed. Can prove it
is original to the car
as I have a copy of the window sticker with the 4 speed option(yes it was an
option) not present
on the sheet. Has the correct vin # on the window sticker 10767W170617 to
match vin # on my
car.
Have owned the car since 7/6/1997. When I found the ad in a local
Auto-Locator I was
intrigued! I called Jeff at the Corvair Ranch at that time and he told me
that in about 20years of business
he had only come across a bare handful of these rare cars. Since I love rare
cars, (own #2980 1969
Corvair Monza cvt.) I bought the car for the sum of $4,000.00 from the 4th
owner. He lives in
Weatherly,PA near Jim Thorpe. Original owner was Walter L. Starnes from
Charlotte,NC. Car was
delivered 6/20/1966.

This past fall I had this car and #2980 retrieved from my sagging
wooden garage floor by Jeff from
the ranch. Insurance took care of the floor ($14,000.00 later with my $100
deductible,phew!!!). Anyway,
both cars were at the ranch for several months for freshening up! Many mice
nests were removed from
the Corsa. Neither had seen the light of day for at least 10 years. Both are
running good now! I hope to
get them out come spring along with a 1964 Monza coupe,95/4sp. identical to
the car I learned to drive on
40years ago. Surprised my 84 year old mom with it and all she talks about is
driving it come spring.Purchased
it off Ebay (Oregon car) and it was as the owner represented it.
Well, that is it for now! But yes, they really did make a Corsa 3speed
from the factory, even convs.. I am
proud to own one!Currently has about 77k miles on it!
If I can be of further help, please ask!
