anyone out there use the available 4 carb kits like the old bill thomas
kits?
i have been kinda involved in 3 around here , and plan on a set for me
someday. we have found a slight problem with these new version kits that
probably did not show up in the old days.
the old kits had you replacing arms on 2 carbs , the new ones dont. so if
you put stock unmodified carbs on , the arm on the right side extra carb
will hit on the adapter holding the throttle open. this is not easy to see
when they are on the car. you need to cut a notch in the adapter to fix
this!. not a big deal , but if you dont see it soon , the engine WILL over rev
and destruct quickly. if you plan on a kit (great way to get the super poop
you want!) let me send you a picture of modified and unmodified adapter. i
am all for this wonderful kit with it's improvements over the originals ,
but you need to know this up front. i think it is the best way available to
get that extra hp with least "side effects?" for a street corvair. the fuel
lines , linkage , choke linkage , etc are much better than the old
original kit i had in the 60's.
i hope to post pictures of this problem , and installation on the
cnycorvair website soon.

pictures of something? on request .
