I tried to replace the pump with a bucket brigade, but that didn't seem to 
work.
OK, it did worked,  and then they unionized, then they went on break, now 
they're on strike, so I went back to a fuel pump instead ...

If being a Luddite is not fixing what isn't broke, then I be a Luddite. 
Trouble is a  "Luddite" is a term describing those opposed to 
industrialization etc. That include oh the Corvair. That being the case why 
would you need any kind of fuel pump. All my Corvairs have mechanical fuel 
pumps. Luddites unite!!
