<VV> Dry Pushrod

Ron, I'd try removing the lifter again. There is usually a ring of "crud" on the inside of the lifter bore blocking the removal. I'd try the old 50-100 push in pull out attempts and even more. I've never had one that would not come out when aggressively attempted.

Subject: <VV> Dry Pushrod

I been having some chronic problems with lifters that won't quiet down on the right side of my '62 wagon so I tried a couple of readjustments to no avail.  One that wouldn't adjust was the #3 exhaust so I pulled the #3 pushrods and tubes to try to see more.  I can't get the lifter out with a lifter puller as there's apparently too much crud around it but the internal piston seems free.  However, the exhaust pushrod was empty of oil whereas the intake rod was full.  The rod was in correctly and there's oil around the lifter so where is the commonest place for the oil to be blocked, in the lifter that I can't get out?  It looks to me as though the engine has never been worked on.
