Corvair was a seperate line, like Geo was in the 90's. In print and 
commercial advertising you would see it printed CORVAIR BY CHEVROLET, even 
in TV Commercials "if you buy a 62 Chevy or Corvair".

Also in much the same way that the Buick dealers carried their Opal line 
produced in Germany.
