<VV> CEDAR RAPIDS IOWA

I made it home at last! And there is no place like it (Durango). The convention this year was great. They just keep getting better and better. Bob, Jamie, ICE, and Corvairs of Minnesota did a great job. Next year is our turn so I hope everyone can make it out to Denver. All together I clocked 2682 miles on my Rampside and it did great. I seemed to have sprung a new oil leak (imagine that) from the RH valve cover. The only problem I encountered was leaving the Marriot in CR Friday afternoon I hit a pothole which bent my left front wheel and I could not find my hub cap (ouch). Luckily the local TIRES PLUS store was able to straighten my wheel but no such luck on the hub cap. Thank you to Allen Bristow and Jason Cesana for stopping to offer assistance as well as a young lady and gentleman in a LM convertible. And it was a pleasure seeing and meeting all the people from VV and everybody else. Today I'm back at work but not doing much. That's all for now.

>Today my "Corn Fever" seems to be letting go. I don't care who I give it to so long as it leaves me. The CPF presentation last nite led by Seth (this guy is everywhere) was quite fascinating. And the hot weather has taken a bit of a break as well (yay). Today, day 4, will be spent doing my last minute deal making and then swimming with my son, then the banquet. Bob, Jamie, and crew have done quite a job here at the 40th convention. Sure glad I came. Tomorrow it's the car display, lunch, and then the goodbyes. Then back to Durango 1200 miles.

>>> Well day 2 is almost at an end. The VV meeting led by Seth was a blast.
>>> It's always nice to put faces to the names. Carl from Australia did a
>>> fabulous presentation on Chevrolet in Australia. He mostly concentrated on
>>> the post war years and he did a great presentation. All the vendors indoor
>>> and out seem to be doing a good business. Corvanatic and Airvair meetings
>>> were excellent as well. Somehow I have picked up some alergies that don't
>>> seem to be letting up today-my 50th birthday. Weather is a bit warm and
>>> muggy but all in all everyone seems to be having lots of fun. Talk at you
>>> all tomorrow. Now on my way to the '69 meeting.
