<VV> Door Latch Problem

Recently, I began to notice that my driver's door on my '66 Monza Coupe 
became hard to latch. I would have to lift slightly on the door handle 
in order for it to shut. If I didn't, then the door would close but not 
latch.

The door does not wiggle up or down; there doesn't seem to be a hinge 
pin problem or an alignment problem. Visually, with door panels still on 
the car, the driver's and passenger's door latches look the same and 
feel the same in operation.

What's going on inside the door?
