Seth,

I guess you haven't "walked a mile in my shoes" in regards to concours.

And NO, I am not trying to tell anyone what to do with their car(s). I couldn't care less. But I will defend with all my might to prevent the stock class from being adulterated by modified cars. A car is either stock or it isn't. Why do those who race and/or modify their cars insist on cramming them into the stock class? Modified cars have their own classes. It is they who should leave the stock car classes alone.

There would be nothing to prevent them from chosing to NOT participate. It would be left up to the individual.

As it stands now, they have no status with CORSA, other that "here's your hat, what's your hurry?"

Mark - As far as I know, NO Concours chair has ever been "shown the door". Every past Chairman has decided to step down on their own. Also, as far back as I have knowledge, the Concours folks had complete control over the Concours rules.

Also, for the record, most members of Corsa are not "Racers" or "Totally Stock" enthusiasts. There is a middle round, folks who just like to maintain and drive their Corvairs. They might run an autocross once a year, and show their car a few times - Show, not Concours - but, generally, they just drive them. They don't try to represent them as Indy 500 winners, or as-delivered originals. Why should those folks be abused by someone because the regular road speeds of today reward slightly taller rear tires? Or cloth seats with better back support, etc. etc.

In short, if you insist on telling me what I should do with my Corvair, I will happily tell you what you can do with yours! <grin>
