Dan,

OK, I know the topic has been discussed before - so there will be other
versions in the archives. To some extent, there can be overkill in this
area - especially to the minimalists.

So, assuming a tool box equipped with most standard hand tools including the
"special" wrench for the idler pulley and the socket for the oil pressure
sender, what else to carry along?

I've not looked in the E box for a while (that's a GOOD thing!) - mainly
because the Vairs don't venture out in winter months. Also, the content of
the box is somewhat fluid - some things get eliminated for space reasons and
others get added for "I should have thought of that" reasons.

I have the current version on top of my desk and will list the items as I
come to them:
1. 12 Volt florescent light with hook
2. Fan belt
3. CORSA member roster - 2009
4. Sheet of sandpaper
5. a rag
6. 3 pieces of fuel hose (longest about 18 inches)
7. fuel hose clamps
8. Assorted spare lug nuts
9. Coil wire
10. Longest plug wire (will reach any plug)
11. Fuse assortments
12. U shape Cable clamp 1/16" two (for a temp splice)
13. Teflon tape
14. Electrical tape (in plastic bag)
15. Carb stones (filters)
16. Carb insulators
17. Accelerator pump cups
18. 3 good style plug boots
19. 3 good (used) plugs
20. An extra Zip lock bag (wonder what was in that?)
21. Oil pressure sending unit (multiple)
22. Rotor 2 (new)
23. Heater Hose clamp 3 (4 inch)
24. Duct tape (in plastic bag)
25. Brass brush (toothbrush size)
26. A pkg of assorted nuts and bolts
27. Coil (new)
28. Hand Cleaner
29. Zip Lock of ignition stuff (cap, points, condenser, breaker plate - set
to go, multiple of some items)
30. Alternator rebuild kit
31. Solenoid repair kit
32. Bulb and socket (for 1157)
33. Pipe strap
34. Rocker and balls 2 (new) 1 (used)
35. Fuel pump (new)
36. Short 90 degree bend fuel line - multiple (for 140 secondaries)

Well, I hit the bottom of the box. For the more paranoid, you could also
carry a spare alternator and/or starter. This is enough for me until
something breaks that I was not ready for and then I'll add that item.

Have a GREAT adventure!
