<VV> Relay rod/pittman arm bushing

The other day I replaced my worn out rubber bushing with a nylon one.
Having replaced dozens of rubber ones in the past I got out the pickle fork
and air chisel to remove the old bushing and sleeve.
After much cussing I finally got it out. I checked to see if the old stud
fit the new plastic bushing and it did. I then checked to see if the
plastic bushing fit the hole in the relay rod and it was way loose!
Apparently the designer/manufacturer of the plastic bushing thinks you can
save the steel sleeve. I had already mutilated mine so I had to take an NOS
rubber bushing and drill out the new rubber to disassemble it so I could use
the steel sleeve.
Being a former engineer I would made the nylon bushing fit the existing hole
in the relay rod and scrap the old steel sleeve. Of course a small
instruction sheet telling me to save the old steel sleeve would have been
nice!
Any of you guys ever had the same problem?
