Matt, in the past six months to a year I perceive a dramatic increase in
the number of Corvair parts on eBay at any given moment, AND a dramatic
decrease in the number selling or selling for a price worth the effort
of photographing, listing, packing, and shipping.

Like virtually all of us here, I too have a barn full of parts, some of
which I can remember pulling from the vehicle in 1976! Many if not most
of them were parts that, at the time, I thought I might have a use for
someday. Many if not most of them are not rare nor uncommon. And yet,
I can't bring myself to simply toss them into the metal recycling
dumpster. I'd like to put them in the hands of someone who might be
able to use them. But here again, the total cost of putting them on
eBay exceeds the likely return. FC door hardware? Cylinder baffles?
Hardly the stuff of dreams.

The past 15 years of eBay, and the past two years of Craiglist, have
made it so that I have fewer parts than before, but I still have waaay
too many.

And it is a disease. I still acquire parts that for some reason I think
I "need."

What hasn't been discussed yet is the "spouse effect." My wife, and a
friend's wife, have an agreement that, should I or my friend die, they
are going to call the other to come get the parts, THEN call the undertaker.
