Not so much pressure as durability.  I too have gotten home on a single flare line, it held up fine for a few days until I could replace the line.

For an on the road fix two short lengths with a flare in one end and some hose with clamps is sufficient to repair a low pressure fuel line.  Be sure to route it well away from the belt.
